Random thought on doping in cycling
So Basso has admitted... something, and we can pretty much assume Der Kaiser is guilty too. This begs a rather large question that I haven't seen asked too much.
If WADA and USADA and ASADA and all the other anti doping agencies are doing tests, why the hell aren't they finding this stuff ? As an extension to that, if they can't be trusted to find "stuff", are they finding "not stuff" ? Or are they only finding things when the athletes and their doctors slip up ?

I've thought about this many times before with respect to most sports that have anti-doping agencies.
In some sports, I'm convinced that the anti-doping agencies are well aware of the problem and they are choosing to 'not find stuff'.
With respect to cycling, I've read and heard numerous people say in the media that they don't think it is possible for, as an example, the people that lead the Tour, to keep that pace up day in and day out. So if other athletes are saying that in the media, either they are jealous of other athletes supreme fitness or the other athletes are doping to get the performance gains.
Personally, I think its often 'accepted' as the normal and dismissed. If everyone in a given sport is doping, is it really unfair (note: in my opinion, they are cheating) ? I wonder if trees are falling silently in forests right now.
